DIY Lip Scrub for Soft Kissable Lips

Hello Loves,

I hope this festive season brought you loads and loads of happiness. I had a lot of fun this Diwali because I was visiting Hampi, a place that I had always dreamt about visiting since about 7-8 years and I must say, it was mesmerizing.

But the crazy hot weather took a toll on my skin and my lips were most affected by it. They chapped like no one's business. The funny thing was, I had to eat non-spicy food because spicy food would literally burn my lips.

Now that I'm back, I started using this scrub and saw a difference within 2 days. My lips tend to get chapped in extreme hot and cold weather and that's what happened.

Since winter is approaching, I thought of using this DIY with you guys.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons of Granulated Sugar (from a local grocery shop)

1 tablespoon Olive Oil

1 tablespoon Honey

How to make this DIY Scrub ?

Step 1

Pour 2 tablespoons of Granulated Sugar in a bowl.

Step 2

Add 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil, I have used Soulflower Olive Oil and 1 ½ tablespoons of Honey, I have used Dabur Honey.

Step 3

Mix all the ingredients really well, till the mixture becomes gooey. If needed add more olive oil or honey to get it to the right consistency.

You can store this scrub for upto a week (preferably refrigerate it).

Just scrub your lips with this for 30-40 seconds (don't be harsh) and wash it off. Follow it up with a thick layer of any lipbalm of your choice, I personally slather on some Boroline and
Voila! you are done!

Wake up with super soft kissable lips!

(A big Thank You to my mom for helping me shoot for this post.)
Do let me know if this scrub worked for you!

xoxo, Aastha

PLUM GREEN TEA CLEAR FACE MASK REVIEW #MaskMonday

Plum Green Tea Clear Face Pack
I have become a massive fan of anything with green tea; you’d get to know about my obsession in a few days because I have been using a lot of products that have green tea extracts. Thought I’m not a fan of drinking green tea, I love products infused with green tea.
The Plum Green Tea Face Mask is truly a savior. It has worked wonders for my acne. I use it all over my face and some times when I feel lazy, I just use it as a spot treatment but leave it on for a little longer than normal.
Ingredient List:
Aqua (Water), Bentonite, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerine, Fragrance, FDA Approved Colours, Glyceryl Stearate, Glycolic Acid, Kaolin, Phenoxyethanol
Price:
Rs. 475 for 60g, available here

It says that it is a clear face mask but it’s actually a creamy mask that applies just like any other clay mask. The first time I applied this mask, I felt a tingling sensation and was scared that it might react with my skin but nothing happened. It also has a cooling sensation which feels super nice especially in the summers. It takes around 10-15 minutes to completely dry up and it feels so tight that you cannot talk.
I did not see any major difference in my first use but after the second use, my acne had started to dry up. Because I was desperate to cure my acne, I used it thrice in a week (alternate days) and it did help in healing my acne.
I love the fragrance of it as it’s very fresh. As I mentioned above, other than Green Tea extracts, this mask also has Glycolic Acid and the goodness of natural clays Kaolin and Bentonite, which again are extremely good for some dealing with acne/ pimples.
Do comment below if you have tried it or would want to try it. Also let me know if you want me to review anything specific.

The Monsoon Nail Polish Edit!

Hello my lovely people,

I'm finally back from a mini refreshing vacation and have decided to do a lot of posts this August! I'm doing a happy dance since the past 3 days because 'AUGUST' is my favourite month as it's my BIRTHDAY MONTH !!!

I was really confused what to post and I kept thinking & while I was getting my nail polish off last evening, an idea popped in my mind! I'm a nail polish hoarder & I hate it when my nails ain't painted. But sometimes it's necessary to let your nails breath.

Since it's monsoon in Mumbai, the weather is gloomy & dull and for me nail polish is a great way of add some colour to the dull life! I find painting my nails very relaxing, sometimes stressful also but would talk about that in another post.

So here are the lovely nail polishes that have made me happy during these rainy days....

Maybelline Color Show in 402 Blackcurrant Pop : If you are someone who isn't into bright shade but still want a colour that pops, this beautiful lilac shade is perfect to match this changing weather.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in 420 Pacific Blue : You can never go wrong with this ocean colour shade. Just one stroke and you are good to go.

NYX Advanced Salon Formula Nail Polish in NPS 214 Creme Glitter : I swear by this copperish rose gold shade! It instantly dresses up your nails and can be worn with every outfit.

Maybelline Color Show in 215 Keep - up - the - Flame : I love my classic red. Whatever season it maybe, I love my reds & this is the perfect bright reddish orange shade.

Do let me know which shades are you loving currently ??

Happy Friendship Day!

Going back to my childhood, Tom & Jerry was the first cartoon I loved and would watch all day long. I'm sure many of you have the same story!

It taught what a friend is like & what the phrase 'A friend in need is a friend indeed' actually meant. Though was Tom always after Jerry but they always helped each other, that's how friendship is!

So make sure to be there for your friend at all times.
And thank you to you guys who have given me so much love.

😀 HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY ðŸ˜€

June Favourites 2015 :)

It's just so crazy that we are half way through the year! This year just went by too quickly. I have been wanting to post stuff on my blog but I was having a writer's blog. Each time I sat to write about something, I would get stuck. So I thought of giving me that think to recuperate. I made sure that each time I had an idea I would at least write how much ever I could and continue later. So at this point I have a lot of post where I'm stuck midway but I'm working on them.

As you all know, I love YouTube and during the beginning of every month most beauty/ fashion youtubers post about their favourites. While I was watching those videos, it suddenly struck my mind to do one too.
So here I'm with my June Favourites :)

MAYBELLINE HYPERSHARP LINER

I love applying eyeliner but I'm really bad at applying liquid eyeliner and though I love gel eyeliner, I'm too lazy to wash the brush. So since a long time I have been using these felt tip pen eyeliners from Miss Claire. Maybelline New York is my go - to brand of all time and when they launch this pen eyeliner, I had to grab it. I use it almost everyday, and this does not budge all day. I have even worn it in the rain and it still way intact.

MAYBELLINE TOTAL CLEAN

Now as I said that the eyeliner does and the lip crayon don't come off that easily, this makeup remover comes to my rescue. It gets the job done in seconds, so I have not reason to be lazy to get my makeup off. Again this is an inexpensive product and also most importantly, does not make my skin break out into hives :)

PALMOLIVE AROMA MORNING TONIC SHOWER GEL

During my teens, I always loved using body washes from this particular brand. I don't know why I stopped using it. Around 2 months back, I rediscovered this much loved product while I was on a trip to Delhi. I reached Delhi and realised that I wasn't carrying a body wash and I was so paranoid that I rushed to the nearby supermarket and bought  this one. I personally love this one the most because I love anything and everything with a citrus fragrance.

REVLON COLORBURST MATTE BALM - 225 SULTRY

This is my go - to lip colour since a while now. It compliments most skin tones and stays on all day long. Since it is matte, it does dry my lips so I prefer applying a thin layer of lip balm, wait for a few minutes and then apply this lip colour. This lip colour is a dupe to the shade that Kylie Jenner wears all the time.

RIMMEL LONDON STAY MATTE LONG LASTING PRESSED POWDER - 005 SILKY BEIGE

Now this is something that has been my favourite for almost a year now. I'm in the shade ..... Since the time I got this I haven't used any other pressed powder and have also got some of my friends hooked on to this baby. It glides on like a dream and doesn't give a very powdery or a cakey look. It's really inexpensive and you much give it a try!

SMITH'S ROSEBUD SALVE

This has been my saviour for the past few years now. I suffer from chapped lips as well dry patches all years long. Since I have to use a lipbalm all year round I'm always on the lookout for lipbalms that are 100% natural. This isn't a lipbalm, you can apply this to any dry patches and this product is simple wonderful.
Also, I got this long long back on my trip to Sephora (Singapore) so I really don't remember the price.

THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE SKIN CLEARING FACIAL WASH

Now this is something to which I have been committed to for around 4 years. I don't know how many bottle I have gone through. This face wash has helped me keep pimples at bay (not literally), I still do get a few but not that often. I have sensitive skin and this has worked wonders for me!

THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE SQUEAKY-CLEAN SCRUB

A few days back I went to buy the face wash and saw this scrub. This was a new launch and because it was from the Tea Tree range, I had to try it. I must say, it's equally good as the face wash and I love the combination of the two together.

MUSIC I HAVE BEEN LOVING !!

All these songs are old but classic and I listen to them every morning to feel motivated and happy.

The Lil Flea ...

“Better late than never.”
And so rightly said here’s the post on my last year’s (in December to be precise) experience at Mumbai’s own one of a kind weekend flea market, The Lil Flea at the Reclamation grounds, Bandra.
To start with, The Lil Flea is all about art with a perspective, the pulsating creativity and free well. If you are the kind of shopaholic who thinks there is nothing quite as exciting as coming home with a bag of quirky, one-of-a-kind goodies then The Lil Flea is just the place for you. With the mention of a flea market, the term conjures up images of beach side markets across globe with vibrant colors all over, selling some of the most wonderful and enticing knick knacks.
You simply cannot avoid this one !!!
What made me Happy here ??? DREAMCATCHERS ♥
In order to quench the shopping needs of the city's fashion enthusiasts, The Lil Flea is a one-stop destination for the choicest products from various brands spanning across fashion, jewellery, home decor and lifestyle whilst keeping up with latest trends. Colourful tents with fun drapes and lamps, umbrellas hanging upside down, ladder installations with lights and Christmas goodies uplifting the space and giving it a nice cool vibe, pop-up shops showcasing a variety of items such as clothes, footwear, bags, accessories, handicraft, artifacts, arts & craft, antiques, home décor, and the concept of exchanging old books in lieu of another book at free will, that’s something I experienced for the first time and loved the idea. But unlike any other pop-up exhibition selling only merchandise, the flea also had a vibrant pop-up cafe with dozens of booths offering a number of cuisines and street food.
Posing time ... This mint green ladder & these cute jars instantly attracted me !
This cute girl ... I wish I could become a kid again ♥
Making a wish ... At the Secret Santa Tree ♥
Super cute Christmas decorations !!!
The Lil Flea market is definitely not one of the cliche' exhibitions with only merchandise on offer. The Lil Flea has a fun central flea square, right in the middle of the flea - open music zone showcasing live band performances by some local coolest up and coming singers and song writers through the day. The pathways and the layout were such that you can have the freedom to enjoy your time looking at pretty corners, or relax on benches spread throughout the flea to park your shopping bags and grab a bite. You can take a time out and go about clicking snaps and selfies with the number of props and artifacts kept around. I personally loved it. Also you can chill out at the café area sitting on the ground sipping away your cooler, or participate in a smattering of cool and fun workshops, for instance the dream-catcher workshop was just way too cool.
Dreamcatcher Workshop
♥ Frame Work ♥
Fun with Caricature
These people were awesome !! Especially that little girl !!!
Much needed picture !
Which one would you pick ??
In a nutshell, The Lil Flea offered a lovely setting for the market, an ideal destination for collectors, bargain hunters, music aficionados and fashion enthusiast Mumbaikars who want to soak up the atmosphere.
Don't Forget to Live your DREAMS

Oh !!! And just to let you know ! The Lil Flea is happening right now, so make sure to visit them !!
